Food for the Soul and Mind

Let's be honest here, eating a juicy cheeseburger or having a huge slice of pepperoni pizza is better than eating a healthy diet. At least for me it is. But when it comes to nourishing your mind, you have to eliminate the junk and eat the healthier options. Like most, I have struggled with eating healthy, but I knew when I started my mental health journey, I needed to change what I eat. I have reached out to one my friends, who was gym trainer. He provided a food plan for me, which included fruits, vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats. He listed breakfast, lunch and dinner with the portion amount of each food group. After some time on this plan, I was feeling better. I felt more energized and focused. Skipping meals or relying on sugar and caffeine would leave me feeling anxious and drained. Now I treat food like fuel for my mind as much as my body.
